History of Mega M Ltd

The company Mega M Ltd has a 20-year tradition as an operator of telecommunications services and provider of information and communication solutions for the business and residential market.

2002

Start up

In Europe, at the turn of the millennium, the monopolies of traditional, established telecommunications operators began to fall. The period is marked by the rapid development of digital signal processing and thus technologies that enabled the efficient transmission of telephone traffic over Internet networks. Competition has appeared on the market to established traditional providers of telecommunications services. It was most pronounced in the transit market segment of international telephone calls, where margins and price differences were traditionally the highest. Mega M set up hubs in London, United Kingdom and Ljubljana, Slovenia and started transiting international telephone traffic within Europe and also intercontinental connectivity.

2003

Complete telephony system

Mega M among the first operators on the market who, while ensuring high quality of operation and additional functionalities of the telephone system, were able to offer a transition from traditional systems to IP telephony. An important sales element was the reduction of costs, especially of subscriptions and calls abroad.

2005

Loyalty system

With the development of technology and the introduction of digitized processes, business entities needed an increasingly comprehensive treatment of their customers. They introduced a comprehensive system that enables personalized promotions, member rewards, customer and product segmentation, sales promotion and a comprehensive overview of key business parameters.

2006

Internet Access

In addition to constantly adding new functionalities to the IP telephony system, the company also added an Internet access service. In this way, business users were offered a fully functional IP telephony service. One of the main advantages of the company was the flexibility of using the available telecommunications infrastructure. A set of telephone services was offered to users independently of access network technology.

2009

Comprehensive fleet management

With the acquisition of basic telecommunications services and the digitization of operations itself, the needs of business users grew to such an extent that different requirements and different business models for different verticals developed. The company followed development trends and realized many vertical solutions in the field of taxi service management, food delivery management and other service-logistics activities.

2016

Virtual mobile operator

With the brand Me2, Mega M became one of the virtual mobile operators in Slovenia. The advantage of the virtual mobile operator is in extremely flexible mobile telephony packages intended for different generations of users. Over the years, they have also become a partner of many local and regional cable operators, who have rounded out their range of services with the offer of mobile telephony.

2017

Virtual office

The trend of reducing investment costs by customers (CAPEX) and, on the other hand, the offer of many start-up companies in the SaaS style (SW as a Service) has put many traditional providers of information and communication solutions before the fact of introducing their own cloud infrastructure and offering many services from the cloud. Even during the pandemic, the solution proved to be the right direction in the development of existing and new services.

2018

IP TV

A complete package offer called "Četvorček" was the cause of to the introduction of the Internet Television service, or IP TV. It allows users to watch TV interactively, watch TV programs backwards and electronic program guide. The company can boast that it is a technological partner of as many as 14 cable operators throughout Slovenia.

2019

Smart connectivity - IoT

Numerous devices for measuring the consumption of electricity, water and heating, temperature, humidity, asset tracking or packages and waste management are becoming smarter. Their connectivity with the Internet and back-end systems that enable their optimal management are of key importance. The company has developed an innovative business model of SIM IoT cards with a one-time cost, which lowers the operating costs of a business entity.

2020

TODAY – Active player of eMobility

The company became the first operator of the eMobility service in Slovenia. It provides its users with a uniform experience of e-charging both at home and abroad at as many as 250,000 charging stations in the EU. With this, the company became the technology leader for smart connectivity and sustainable collaboration, anywhere, anytime and on any device in the EU.
